I think on the flip side of shame, sometimes we can look at others and think that we are “better than”. That were the people who should be guiding. That we do all the right things.
But none of us is without sin. We all have fallen short. And either you’ve been the person or you know the person who presents themselves holier than thou or holier than they actually are – I’m guilty of it.
But here we’re reminded that we all have sinned (we do still sin) and we have no place to think ourselves better than. We only have the place to boast in Christ.
Let us be cautious too of being hypocritical and saying one thing, preaching one thing, correcting someone on one thing – and doing the other ourselves.
