Here’s an excerpt from our Esther study:
God is a God of PERFECT timing – even when it seems inconvenient. The Jews are in danger and distress. Mordecai’s fate is seemingly arriving. But God is working in the natural and the behind the scenes, raising up His people and bringing low His enemies. He is bringing a justice for His people so fierce that it could only come through this season of apparent peril.
In our lowest moments, when it seems God has forsaken us or there’s no way out, let’s think of this story and know that He is working. His timing and His ways are perfect. His plans are greater. He is faithful. Even during what looks like total ruin, God is in control. He is not just generally in control or stressing to fix the past or the present. He is even in all the messy from the beginning.
God is present for His people.
How’s this for impeccable timing? The king couldn’t sleep, he reads about Mordecai and he honors Mordecai through Haman, who hates Mordecai, the same night Haman wants to kill Mordecai and a night before Esther tells the king about Haman’s evil plan.
The Lord fights for us. He works behind the scenes. Obey Him always, even if it seems like a choice with no fruit or even a choice with punishment. His timing is always perfect.
