We can mourn.
Sometimes, as Christians, we think we need to handle every situation perfectly, even hard ones. We think we shouldn’t feel sorrow because that means we’re not joyful or we’re not grateful or not trusting God.
But that’s not what Scripture tells us. Mourning occurs regularly, and there’s even a whole book of the Bible called Lamentations. And in this chapter, in verses 1-3, we see a very natural response to a tragic situation.
Throughout the Bible, we see people in moments of intense sadness.
We can be sad, and bring our sadness to the Lord.
One of my favorite passages is 2 Corinthians 1 where we see that God is a God of all comfort which means that He wants us to bring our sorrow, our very REAL sorrow, to Him.
