Stand firm in your convictions and in your faith.

Mordecai, we see, decides to not bow to Haman, and we also see it’s because he says he’s a Jew. He decided to stand firm in his convictions – not bowing to Haman – with no rewards and instead with consequences, even consequences that MAJORLY impacted others (4-6).

He doesn’t submit to acts against his convictions even when (4) society pressures him.

This is such a reminder that we do not do things to please man, but to please God.

God’s opinion is the one that matters. Pleasing God may mean no recognition, receiving punishment, or putting others and God above self, but it’s a worth-it path to take.
