It’s OK to Give Up Control – Psalm 23

Ever find yourself anxious when things are all out of control? when you don’t know what will happen next? when it feels like your entire world just fell apart? or when it seems like there’s no answers for how to move forward?

I realized recently that I struggle with trust & releasing control to Jesus .
& honestly, psalm 23 is THE chapter of the Bible that is helping me conquer that.
I think we can really believe that we can trust and accept the idea that we can release control and that it’s OK to and even BETTER to, when we know the One we are trusting and giving control to.
He shows us that He is good, He is loving, He cares and He is capable.
In Psalm 23, we begin to see our role as the sheep and Him as the Shepherd and realize we CAN give Him control.
It also is a relief because I think at least for me in all my attempt to control, I’ve realized I have no control.
But when I give Him control I can trust that whatever happens, He’s in control.
& He’s proven himself more than trustworthy to take it – life, struggles, control – off of our hands.

Mini Devo Romans 15:22-33

I love these details we get in letters like these, and here’s one big reason why: Even Paul was unsure his plans and was redirected. He was unsure how he’d be received in Jerusalem and Judea. He had plans to go to Spain and HOPED to see the romans, but wasn’t sure...

Romans 15:14-21

Honestly - this hit me. “For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me.” May we not boast in things we did in our own strength. Let’s allow God to move in us and let what HE is doing be what we boast about.

Mini Devo Romans 15:8-13

Can I pray this same prayer we read in this passage over you right now? God, I pray that You, the God of hope would FILL this community will ALL JOY and PEACE in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit they may ABOUND in HOPE.
