part 4
What is purpose?
What is purpose? What is living purposefully?
In part 3, we uncovered practical daily ways to live out purpose in our day to day – good works.
There are good works that God specifically calls us to do, bringing purpose and value to the way we live in our every day.
But it is important – like so important – to note that our good works don’t rest in works alone.
We can’t please God with those good works without having faith. So, faith is, therefore, included in our purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
The greatest of those good works we’re all called to?
The greatest commandments.
Love the Lord your God. The next?
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Loving God and enjoying God is part of purpose.
Another verse that I think speaks to our ultimate purposes being to serve God’s purpose is 1 Peter 2:9.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
We are called to enjoy and glorify God in those good works. We are called to enjoy and glorify God. Period. Enjoying and glorifying God is part of our purpose.
The key to finding our purpose? Let’s love and glorify God AND step into the good works He’s called us to.
I guarantee, that as we take these steps and walk in the ways He wants us to walk and seek Him, the plans for our life we so desperately want to find out and uncover will follow.
But be at peace to know that as you do this, you are living out your purpose.

Meg
