knowing your goals & Taking steps
The Vitality of Intentionality
I couldn’t be more passionate about it because I’ve seen the impact it makes firsthand. It is defined as being deliberate or purposive (how fitting for a blog about purpose).
Intentionality knows its goal and takes steps to get wherever it’s headed.
I am going to be sharing about intentionality in relationships, first with Jesus, then with others — with the goal of being more like Him, and as a result, seeing people come to know Him.
If you have grown up in Christianity, you have probably heard the saying a million times or more, “relationship over religion” and regardless of how you grew up, “relationship is a two-way street.” It may sound cliché or repetitive, but it’s oh so true.
Intentionality is required in our walk with the Lord.
There is no better advice I could leave you with than to know your Jesus, I mean REALLY know Him. Be deliberate and purposeful in prayer, reading His word, and stopping long enough to listen to His voice. Invite Him into every aspect of your life with the goal of knowing His heart more each day and allowing Him to continually transform you into His likeness. The more you know Him and His character, the more you will trust Him. The more you trust Him, the easier it will be to live the life of surrender and abundance that you have been called to according to His word.
Your purpose is to be a vessel, it’s His power working through you to see other lives changed like yours has been because of Him.
Because of our purpose, intentionality is also vital in our relationships with others because our purpose requires that we reflect God’s heart to those around us.
Even if you are not a natural people person, He has called you to a life of intentionality.
The love of Jesus should pour out of you in such a way that everyone around you just has to have it, or at least know what you have.
He is calling you to the kind of compassion that makes no sense outside of Him. He is calling you to follow through with the words you speak and promises you make. He is calling you to reflect His heart.
Be the encourager, the one who speaks life, and the one who leaves people better than you found them. Be the one who chooses selfless love even and especially when it’s not reciprocated. Open doors. Smile at strangers. Follow through with your words.
Be the one whose life tells of who He is… because if you do that, He will take care of the rest. I have seen it countless times in my own life and that is the greatest reward — to see others’ lives transformed by His love just like your own has been.
You have nothing greater to offer than Him.
Intentionality is vital, let’s live it and see people changed for the best because of it!
